I have a photograph taken early 20th Century by John Emberson, photographer, of 86 The Broadway, Wimbledon. It has a number on the back. Does anyone know if his records still exist, and where I might find them? I want to know the names of the people in the photograph. His son, also John, worked there later as a photographer until 1949.

My Aunt by marriage was Dorothy Alice Vernon OLVER (nee COX) born 1891 in Falmouth, Cornwall. She died in 1968 at the Belmont W.V.S Residential Club, 1 Baring Crescent, Exeter, Devon. She was the widow of my uncle, Capt' Harry Vernon OLVER MM d.o.b 18 Mar 1892, who died in Oflag IVc (Colditz) in 1943 and is buried in the Commonwealth War Grave Cemetery in Berlin. I believe she lived in Wimbledon Surrey for sometime in the 1960's. I believe Harry & Dorothy had two (2) children, (awaiting cert's to confirm), Pamela born 1915 & Colin 1919. I also think that Pamela may have married a COWAN in the 1930's. Can anyone help with any info' about them?

Hi, I am looking for any details for any of the following information. My Gr Grandfather Francis Henry Paxton married in 1921, residence at time of marriage was 9 Newton Road, Wimbledon. Father's name (although deceased when they wed) was Arthur James Paxton and he had been a gardener. My Gr Grandmother's name was Rose May Manning, residence in 1921 was 33 Parkside, Wimbledon, Father's name and occupation were James Manning, Housekeeper (farm). I'm totally at a wall. I'm trying to find information on the family of Marianne Lake, who took the married name Dockray when she married Robert Thornton Dockray about 1820. She was born about 1803 in Wimbledon. Her parents names are unknown apart from their surnames; her father was a Lake and her mother was an Apps. As a married woman she lived in Dartford and had a large family but I don't know how many or any of their names except the eldest two, Marianne Lake Dockray (after her mother) and William Dockray (after his paternal grandfather). Any helpful ideas would be most appreciated.
