Robert Arnold
I am trying to find out information on the life of Robert Arnold. The only info I have on him is that he resided in Corner Cottage, Hersham, near Walton - upon - Thames in August of 1914. He became a VAD also in August of 1914. I know that he was a stationery Clerk. Is there anyone having anything on the life of this man. I would be very grateful to receive. EnieG
red mail Andrews family c1888 Walton on thames
My grandfather was Joseph Andrews born 1888, his mother was Rose Andrews, father Samuel Ball. His birth certificate shows he was born on The Green, Walton on Thames. His Grandparents lived in Common road. Walton on thames but I am unable to find where either of these places are. Can anyone help.
red mail Brooks/Leach/Wyeth/Dodson Walton on Thames
I am looking for information on Lene Herbert Brooks AKA Leno Albert William Brooks, William Henry Brooks and Ann Leach. William and Ann are given as Leno's parents on his birth certificate (Leno Herbert) 27th Feb 1875 Walton on Thames, but I can find no marriage for them and no residence for them. In the 1881 census he is living with Edmond and Abigail Dodson and in 1891 his name is given as Brook Dodson. He later married as Leno Albert William Brooks. There is a family story that he was the illegitmate son of a wealthy man and that money was given to his mother to bring him up discretely. I am guessing this is a little truth mixed with fiction and maybe his parents paid the Dodsons for his up keep, or maybe not, who knows? I would be very grateful for any information regarding his birth, early life and his parentsrelationship and residence. A further twist is that Arthur Wyeth is listed as informant and was present at the birth of Leno. he was a publican, so maybe Ann worked for him, or was he the Father? Did he arrange for the Dodson's to Foster Leno?

red mail Pratt and Martin Families
I'm looking to find the history of the Pratt and Martin families from around Walton-on-Thames and Hersham, Surrey. My Pratt-Martin connection is initially through the marriage of George Pratt 1840 to Elizabeth Martin 1838. Both were from Hersham. There are other Pratt-Martin marriages but this is the key one. It is believed that some of the Pratt family were carpenters or builders in this area. Later on George Pratt and his children ran laundries in West London, of which I have a lot of history. My interest is tracking back to their original location in Hersham. George's parents were Charles Pratt 1806 and Charlotte Rose 1811. Elizabeth's parents were James Martin 1794 and Sarah Thompson c1794.
