red mail Lily Wallbanks / Lillian M Cleal
I'm searching for descendants of a Lily Wallbanks who lived in Thornton Heath, Surrey back in the 60s/70s. I remember my parents, myself and my brother stayed with Lily as a base for a London holiday circa 1960, commuting into the city each day. I was about 12 years old at that time and I have a couple of photos of us taken with Lily. I was given to understand when I first started my family history that we stayed with Lily because she was a cousin of my grandfather William John Waldron (1896 - 1970) who was born, and lived all his life in Kenn/Kennford in Devon. I know that a Lillian Mary Cleal (born 1884 in Kenn in Devon) was a cousin of my grandfather. She was the daughter of my grandfather's mother's sister (Louisa Bedford 1853 - 1916 who married a Thomas Cleal) and I have found her on the 1891, 1901 and 1911 censuses. It seems possible that Lillian M Cleal could have become Lily Wallbanks but, if so, I'd like to know the intervening details. If Lily Wallbanks was not Lillian Cleal earlier in her life, who was she and how was she related to my grandfather? Can anyone help? Les
red mail NASH
Can anyone help me with information on my Great Granddad, Alfred Nash. Was a Plate Fitter on the trains in Colechester. Had 2 sons, Edward Charles Nash, born 17th January 1907, married Charlotte Louse Jagot and had 6 kids. Victor Nash his brother married Annie Jagot, Charlotte's sister, had just one kid named Clive. My mum said he may have lived in Percy Street somewhere near Thornton Heath. She remembers an old lady living close by as well which she believed to be her Grandmother, but someone told her that it may well have been a sister. This is all I have to go on so would be grateful if anyone can tell me more. Edward Charles Nash was in the Army in WW2.

red mail Iggy 'Eskimo Girl'
Does anybody remember a girl called Ig(gy) nicknamed 'the Eskimo' who lived with her parents in Thornton Heath in the Fifties/ early Sixties? She was born in 1944 or 45 and was, in the mid Sixties, a photo model, actress and dancer. She is most famous for her short relationship with Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett but left the scene in 1970. She has never been heard of since. We try to retrace her steps and would be much obliged if anyone from Thornton Heath remembers her. Movies, picture galleries, press articles and the odd biographical bit can be found by visiting The Holy Church of Iggy the Inuit, a blog dedicated to her.
