John (b 1805)married Jane Gibson about 1836. She was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne but the family moved to Southwark. John was workhouse master at Christchurch Southwark. Their son William emigrated to Australia. When Jane died John married Emma Maria King in 1843. They moved to Brighton where they ran a hotel. Emma died in Watford. I cannot find any details of John's death nor anything after 1851 about their family Emma(b 1844) Maria(1845) Albert(1846)John Charles (1849)and Amy (1853) If you've any information about them I'd be so grateful. Seeking information about the family of Dinah Vincent b. 1835, birthplace unknown (but outside Southwark). Dinah's father Joseph Vincent was a drayman for a local brewery: his wife, (? Dinah's mother) was named Dorothy. Both were born around 1790 and the family are mentioned in the 1841 census. Dinah was either an only, or a youngest child. It is possible that Joseph was born in Hommerton, Wiltshire but the family's origin is unknown. Dinah married Edwin Diss in 1858, at St Martin in the Fields, Westminster. Dinah Vincent's father, Joseph was a witness.

When William John GOODMAN emigrated to Australia in 1854, he was a 21y.o., C.E., literate wheelwright & native of Clerkenwell, Middlesex whose parents , Joseph & Elizabeth(nee AYRES) GOODMAN, lived in NELSON SQUARE off Blackfriars Rd. According to the 1841 CENSUS, their daughter Anne was born about 1826 & Elizabeth about 1829. In 1831 Martha Louisa GOODMAN was baptised at St James, CLERKENWELL, (my great-grandfather)William John GOODMAN was born about 1833, George GOODMAN was christened at St Johns, Clerkenwell about 1836 and Jane born about 1838. The 1851 CENSUS has the family living in the Registration district of St Olaves, Surrey & states that the head of the house is Joseph GOODMAN, a WHEELWRIGHT who is employing 4 men & his two sons, William (16) and George (15) apprenticed as wheelwrights. Also listed is Emily Lydia GOODMAN born 1840, christened ST THOMAS 1841: Hannah Maria was christened in 1843 & Clara Alice in 1848 at ST OLAVES, Southwark. The parents: Joseph GOODMAN was born about 1800 in Highworth, Wiltshire and Elizabeth AYRES was born about 1802 in Ipsden, Oxfordshire. Martha Louisa GOODMAN married Frederick Henry ARCHER at St Saviours, Christchurch, Southwark in 1853. A George E. GOODMAN married Emma(?) about1860 at St Saviours, Southwark. William John GOODMAN married Julia BRENNAN on 13th April, 1865 in GUNNEDAH, NSW, AUSTRALIA. They had 8 children in northern (Narrabri, Gurley & Wee Waa) NSW. My grandmother was their 5th child. Any contacts with associated families of GOODMAN, BRENNAN, AYRES, ARCHER appreciated. I have more information which I would love to share.

I am tryint to find more information about Thomas Davis, who married Ann Rivers Schmetzer. They had three children Emma bap.4.10.1818 at St Saviour Southwark, Thomas Moulden bap. 13.1.1828 St. Olave Bermondsey and Benjamin Harrison bap. 18.10 1928 d. 9.3.1831. The 1841 census shows them living at Long Lane Leathermarket. Ann Thomas and Emma are said not to have been born in county. Thomas was a porter at Guy's Hospital, yet despite his modest job, he left a most interesting PCC wil,leaving a considerable estate. I cannot trace the family before 1841, the will also mentions a habersasher business. Thomas died in1845. I dont know where the middle name Moulden came from, Benjamin harrison was the name of a treasurer at Gut's Hospital. Can anyone help or suggest where to search next?

Mary Ann later married a GEORGE FENN. I would very much like to hear from any one interested in these my ancestors families.

John Ellington Jarvis c:1846. Son of John and Sarah. His father was a Corporal Major 2nd Life Guards. John (jnr) was born at the Barracks in Albany St. Later married Sarah Reeve. However on the 1901 census he was married to a Mary. On census it say sons John and Harry and stepdaughter Florence Sharp. By his first wife he had a daughter Lillian Frances. Who married Thomas Cutler and emigrated to New Zealand. I am very new to all of this and have no other information. Can any one help me? Please. ^Thanks jet

My - Frederick PAYNE b.1796 Surrey. His brother Randolph PAYNE b.1792 Surrey. They lived, married and died in the Strand(Covent Garden) area of London. They were in Woollen Drapery business and also Wine Merchants. Frederick married Maria LEWIS from Salop in 1825 and had 4 children - Randolph; Frederick Croft; Samuel Lewis and Maria Lavinia. His brother Randolph married twice - firstly Elizabeth NEW in 1812 - they had six children. His 2nd marriage to Mary Ann WILLIS from Glamorgan in 1826 and they had seven children.
