My father's name was John Henry Tobitt and was born on 15th August 1926. The Laycock family in Brighton then adopted him in the late 1930’s. I am searching for my father's real mother whose name was Violet Tobitt and lived on a farm in Ockley called Volvens Farm from late 1800's - 1940. Her only brother I know of was Dicky Tobitt but she had other brothers and sisters living at the farm with her. If anyone knows of the Tobitt family or the farm please get in touch.
