red mail Lucy Agnes Dance
My father Dudley Alden Williams was born 09/27/1917 in Egham Surrey to Cdn soldier Alfred A. Williams and Lucy Agnes Dance. They came to Canada in Jan 1919 she was a war bride. She had a baby girl in Feb 1919 and died in Nov 1919. Trying to find any information of Lucy family. Her mother was still alive in England in 1919 as my dad was sent to stay with her. Dudley returned to Canada in 1924.
red mail Edwin Henry HOOKER
I am searching for information regarding descendants or living relatives of Edwin Henry HOOKER (1883 - ????). His birth was registered Q4 1883 in the Windsor district of Berkshire, and according to the 1891 census he was born in Egham, Surrey. He was likely a bastard, and his father was probably Henry HOOKER (1847 - 1923) who spent most of his life in Surrey. As I can find no record of Edwin having either married or died, he may well have changed his name. If anyone thinks they know what happened to Edwin, and under what name he died, please get in touch. Thank you.
My paternal grandmother Florence Daisy HICKOX nee TYRRELL lived at 1 Walton Villas, 40 Hummer Road, Egham until she married in 1928 and moved to Wiston, Sussex. Her parents were John WELLING TYRRELL, (a coachman) and Emily TYRRELL (nee EVERSHED) who were both born in Ashington, Sussex in about 1852, 1853, 1854 or 1855. Their children were Fanny b 1876, Thomas b Pyrfrd, Guildford Surrey 1878 and who had a daughter Mabel (Babs) who married Stan TRAYFORD, Emily b 1879, 2 daughters who died in infancy, Minnie 1881 and Harriet 1882, Ada 1884 (died young), Edith (Edie) 1887 (had a son John who was blind and worked for the Blind Society), Elizabeth Naomi (1888), John Welling junior 1890, Florence Daisy 1893, Winifred Grace 1895, Mabel Dorothy 1897 who married George LANGRIDGE and Benjamin ?1899 who had a son called Roy who had a son and possibly a daughter. I would love to know more about the family and hopefully meet some relatives. Emily Evershed Tyrrell considered herself to come from yeoman stock and John Welling Tyrrell was very deaf and died when he was apparently knocked down and killed by a horse and cart in Egham high street. Mabel was nanny to some cousins of the queen - the Wills family. If you have anything that can help me corroborate this or any information about the family I'd be very grateful. Many thanks
