red mail Price and Mitchell
I would love to know what became of my grandfather's brother & sister. George Thomas Price and Charlotte Sampson m.n.Bell had four children Mary Ann Alice, George William, William Andrew my grandfather and Thomas who sadly died aged 2 months just a month after his mother. George William married an Edith Cross and in 1901 were living at 32 Hollington Street,Camberwell. George's occupation was House Painter and they had two children 3yr old George and 1yr old Lily. Mary Ann Alice married an Arthur Amor in Lambeth 1893 but was widowed c1903. The last trace I have of her is her 2nd marriage in Camberwell 1908 to Henry Mitchell a widower with children. My father was only 7 when his father died and knew very little of his Price family history. The last time the family were all together was the 1881 census. By 1891 George Thomas had remarried another Charlotte and had another son Arthur. George and William were still at home but apart from her two marriages I found no more trace of Mary. All three children were born in Westminster but other places were Marylebone, Lambeth and Camberwell. If any of these details are familiar I would be very pleased to hear from you.

red mail George Edgar Herbert-Camberwell
George Edgar Herbert born about 1871 and Florence Eliza (Gladwell) Herbert(b 1873) were married about 1891 in Camberwell, London. They had a son, also named George Edgar Herbert, who was born and died in 1892. In 1893 they had Ethel Georgina Herbert, in about 1897 they had Winifred Gertrude Herbert, in 1900, Florence Ellen Herbert and on 5 May 1903, they had Maud Herbert, who added Ethel to her name later becoming Maud Ethel Herbert. It seems something really awful happened to the family after 1903, because of the 3 marriage records I could find for the girls all claimed they didn't know who their father was. I was able to track one daughter easily, Winifred Gertrude Herbert. Winifred first married in 1917 to Frederick Lea who died in WW1. Her second marriage was to William Grieve Campbell in 1921 in the Gospel Hall in Hulme. They had 3 children. Ruth Ethel Campbell in 1924, Joyce Victoria Campbell in 1926, and Colin Thomas Campbell in 1928. All in the Manchester area. Chorlton on Medlock, and South Manchester. I was then able to track Joyce Victoria Campbell and her marriage to Sidney D. Swindells in 1945. They had 2 children Karen J. Swindells in 1948 and David C.N. Swindells in 1952. I'ld like to contact a family member to see if they know whether their granny(Winifred Gertrude) had contact with her sister, Maud Ethel (Herbert) Coombs? Did Winifred know where her sister Maud lived after 1930? Maud Ethel (Herbert)Coombs left her family, husband and 4 children in 1930. Maud's grand-daughter would like to know what happened to her.
