red mail Princess Mary Village Homes for Girls
I am hoping to find information on my grandfather's half sister Jane Doris Smith. Jane was born in 1897 and was admitted to The Princess Mary Village Homes for Girls in Surrey in 1905 after being removed from her mother's care. She remained at the school until 1913 when she was discharged at age 16. From here we lose all trace of her. It would appear she never returned to her family. Does anyone know what became of these girls are they were discharged? Surely they weren't put out onto the street and left to their own devices? I am wondering if they were put into jobs as maids, nurses, teachers etc. If any has any information that may be able to help me figure out what happened to my grandfather's sister I would be most grateful. Thank you.
red mail Arthur John BREEZE / HORNE
I am searching for an Arthur John BREEZE, born May 12th 1939 in Chertsey. His mother was Peggy Wingfield/Winifred BREEZE of Pyrcroft Road, Chertsey. Peggy was born in Hammersmith in 1917. His father was Arthur Douglas HORNE, and although they never married, Peggy used Arthur's surname as an alias, and she later married under that name. As I can find no trace of Arthur after his birth, it is likely that he is now living under a different name - likely HORNE, PEARCE or BATES. I am trying to trace Arthur on behalf of his father's family, who are keen to establish contact with him. If you know Arthur or have any information which could lead to him, please let me know as his family would very much like to find him. Thank you.
