red mail LAPPAGE - Polstead, Layham, Hadleigh, Stanway (Essex)
Looking for the family of John Lappage b. 1711 in Polstead. I understand he had three sisters: Elizabeth, Sarah and Judith, 1704, 1706 and 1709 respectively. All born Polstead. Parents John Lappage and Ann Richardson who came from Hadleigh. I am especially interested in any further siblings, particularly male. I believe that John moved to Stanway in Essex when he married. There are also Lappages of the same and subsequent generation living in Copford, Essex. At present I lack the link to put them all together. In particular I have names Daniel, Solomon and William. There are no Essex Lappages prior to John's marriage to Elizabeth Buntin in Stanway in 1734. Any information would be gratefully received.

Some time after birth of James S, Caroline married Benjamin Hazell and had 2 more children Benjamin Hazell (1835) and Caroline Hazell (1841). Lionel Britton (Novelist and Playwright)
I'm researching for a PhD on the work of the very obscure writer Lionel Britton (1887-1971), most of whose unpublished work is held at a library in the USA. I haven't yet been there, but someone has informed me of the contents of his will (of which there is no record in this country). Apart from several charities, he also left his copyright royalties to 'the vicars and churchwardens of Polstead' in Suffolk. I have no idea what connection he had with Polstead: he was born at Astwood Bank near Redditch, spent most of his life in London, and died in Margate. I wonder if anyone can enlighten me. Thanks in advance. (His mother - née Thomas - married Francis le Breton a few years after the death of his father. His sister was Ada, and his brothers Cyril and Percy. He never married and had a 40-year relationship with Sinead Acheson - a London solicitor. I know of no children.) Tony, Nottingham
