red mail Steggall
I am trying to trace my Gt. Grandmother's family. She was Ellen Steggall born c.1859 in Old Newton. Her father was John Ritchen Steggall born c.1829 in Old Newton. He was a farmer in Norfolk and Suffolk. At some point they lived at Brown Street. He married a Harriet ? c.1857 and then between 1881 and 1891 Charlotte ?, and they moved to Ipswich where he was a greengrocer. Ellen was a domestic in Hastings by 1881 and then Assistant Matron at Eliabeth Fry Refuge in Hackney by 1891, just before she married my Gt. Grandfather, Alfred Richard Brogen. If anyone has any information I would be very grateful.
