I am wanting to begin my mothers family line- and is proving difficult - My mum never really wanted to talk to about her family life - I have my mothers birth certificate and her Mother Mothers name is Emily Walner nee George she lived at 1 Gas Lane Bungay I no she is buried at the church in Metfield is there only St John the Baptist church there? will need to go and look at the grave stones. On my mothers birth certificate her surname is Walner Knights yet No father name there, just Emily Walner nee Knights living at the above address around 1923 - I would be so very grateful if anyone has or knows how I can move forward - thankyou

I am seeking information on William Hunter Born abt 1787. He married Jemima Crawford in Metfield on 23rd August 1821 and together had the following children, Harriett 1822, Mary Ann 1825, William 1827, George 1828, James 1829, Robert 1831, Ann 1833, John 1834, John 1835, John 1837, Ann 1839, Jemima 1840, John 1841 - although only Harriett, William and James survived beyond infancy. Despite searching parish records I can find no trace of William's birth and would appreciate any information that anyone may have. Jemima Crawford was born in 1797 in St James South Elmham to Elizabeth Crawford.

My 6xg/grandfather, John Turner was married to Bridget Buckingham in Metfield on 7/6/1737. I know nothing more about the ancestry of either. Their son Robert married Sarah Bacon in nearby Middleton, and THEIR son - another Robert married Bridget Brown in Kelsale - also nearby. I'd love to know more about these good folk please

I am researching my family line involving a Edward Walter Hammond born 08.04.1902 at Hoxne,Norfolk . I have a copy of his marriage certificate which shows him being married to a Jane Gascoyne in the Parish Church at Metfield,Suffolk on the 31.07.1926. The address shown on the certificate as residence for the couple at the time of marriage was Shrimps,Metfield . Can anyone throw any light on the address of Shrimps, Metfield or any knowledge of Edward Walter Hammond and his wife Jane. Any nformation would be greatl appreciated.
