red mail Bendall family Red Farm Mendlesham
I am tracking my family history. I was born Bendall and am trying to track the family years and times at the Red Farm in Mendlesham village where I believe my father was born (1913)and my grandfather,(1875) great grandfather (1820s)and possibly my great great grandfather.(n/k) From records already found I believe another ancestor, Flanders Bendall died locally but lived at the Farm my great grandfather Read Bendall and his father Sutton Read Bendall died there. My grandfather lived and worked there with his family - Sutton Read Bendall married Edith May Bunn from Yarmouth in 1905), Their children were Elsie Katherine Bendall Marjorie Bendall and William Read Bendall (my father). Elsie had a twin sister Lillian who died when she was 4 yrs old in approx. 1912. She is buried in Mendlesham church yard. Anyone knowing of any records of any of these people would be very welcome. Thanks.

red mail Read Bloomfield Suffolk and London.
Looking for information on the Read Bloomfield family who originated from Mendlesham. From what we have been able to find out so far, the name came into existance around 1800 and was used by at least two families. William Read (1765-1817) and Zophiel nee Blomfield (1767-1822) was one family. The other known family was William's brother Robert Read. (1753-1842). Robert's first wife was Ann Blomfield. Later, and by this time Robert had changed his name to Read Bloomfield, he married Christian Thurston. Census and bdm's indicate there were more people with the family name of Read Bloomfield than we have uncovered as descendants of either William or Robert. We know there was one other brother John, there may have been more. If anyone has any information which would help unravell this puzzle I would be most grateful to hear from them Eleanor
