Seeking anyone who has connection or knowledge of the Titshall,Clow families of late 1800's and early 1900's through to about 1940. My grandmother was born Florence Titshall youngest of 6 children, I believe they lived at Grundsburgh Mill. Her father's name was John and mother Ellen Jane Nee Smith I think. 3 older sisters were, Cassie, Blanche and Grace. Cassie did marry and had one son Michael but he died of a brain tumor aged 16 yrs and her husband was killed in the war WW1 I think. Grace worked for the Grazebrook family as a governess? to their two sons, she worked for them all her life until reitrement I believe. Joe (Cecil?)was a favourite of my grandmothers, he was her big brother. My grandmother came out to Australia in 1949 with her husband Ernest Clow and their youngest daughter Heather Clow, Ernest was a butcher by trade and worked in Hobart, Tasmania first as a butcher but then he worked for the Govt. as a statistician until his retirement, he had quite a few brothers and sisters and one sister Winifred (known as Winnie) was a missionary and lived in Wellington, New Zealand, she came to visit us on several ocassions, one of which when I was born. She died in N.Z. about 1965 approx. My Grandfather Ernest Clow eldests brother Robert Clow who was born March 1890.Robert's mother was Alice and Robert was brought up by his Grandfather Alice's brother, Charles Whitfield-King, who raised and educated Robert "Bob". Alice later married George CLOW and they had 8 children, Rosa A,born 1892/3, Edward G. 1893/4, Ernest W. 1895, Amelia Winifred known to me as Auntie Winnie born 1897, Stanley A. 1898 then after 1901 Harry, Sidney and Cyril. Robert known to my grandfather as "Bob" grew up to be an artist, he was captured by the Germans in WW1 and held prisoner, he became popular with the German soldiers because of his painting talents and painted their wives whilst a prisoner, to my knowledge Bob never married. My mother recalls visiting all her father's relatives during the war years and thinks about 1941/2 visited Bob, it was sometime later that he died. They lived in Ipswich. Love to hear from anyone with news of where the decendants are of these families today. Does anyone know where Robert is buried and when he died?
