red mail Thomas Howard Harris
I would like some help with finding information about Thomas Howard Harris, born in Framlingham about 1825. Firstly, I'd like to know exactly when he was born/christened and who his parents are. The 1841 census shows him living with the Garrard (Garrod, Garrad) family, of whom Mary Ann (similar in age to Thomas) will become his wife. It's curious that he's living with another family at such a young age. Is he orphaned? An employee? There's a possible marriage of a Thomas Harris and Mary Ann Garrard in the March 1843 quarter in Ipswich. They would have only been 17 or 18 years old! Is there a reason they got married so young, i.e. "had to"? They later moved to London as their daughter, Harriet Kate, was born in Bethnal Green in June 1849. Can anyone find them in the 1851 census? I have successfully traced his adult life from the 1861 census onward. He shows up also as T. Howard Harris or just Thomas Harris. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Jackie
