red mail Tebbenham/Tebenham
I am looking for information about the Tebbenham/Tebenham/Tibbenham family who settled in Blaxhall. Samuel Tebbenham b 1798 in Framlingham and his brother William b 1796 Framlingham were the sons of William Tebbenham and his wife Hannah (nee Fuller) who were married 9.12.1794 in Framlingham. I am aware that the 2 brothers were in Blaxhall in the 1820s and possibly before as William married Susan Sawyer 19.12.1820 at Blaxhall St Peter's church and Samuel married Mary Blinco 11.6.1821. Both brothers were butchers although Samuel went on to be a policeman when he moved on to Essex. I have found some more Tebbenhams/Tebenhams who were buried/baptised but no link to the brothers. It is such an usual surname that they have to be related in some way. I am particularly interested to find out what happened to William and Hannah, or if the brothers had any other siblings or children that were baptised at the church. Many thanks
red mail Robert Jay-Blaxhall
I'm trying to find any informaton about Robert Jay born 1865-6 in Blaxhall to William Jay and Emma Ling. He married Margaret Ling (1870 Blaxhall) on 30 APR 1892 in Blaxhall. Margaret had a son Joseph J in 1890 and was at that time living with her 71 year old father Joseph Ling, again in Blaxhall. I don't know if Robert was the father of this child as no records for them after their marriage can be found. Any information about Robert and his family would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. I can find no record of his birth, but Blaxhall is recorded as his birthplace on the birth certificate of one of his daughters. He was an illiterate shepherd, but eventually he was able to get a farm of his own in Wamur, northern Victoria. He married Margaret MacRae near Hamilton, and they had the following children: Catherine (McDonald) 1854, Mary 1856, James 1859, Donald 1961, Jessie 1863, Isabella 1865, Ann 1866, Flora 1868. Charles died in 1895. There is no record of this Charles Randall's arrival in Australia (before 1853) "Charles Radnall" was an assisted immigrant to Australia in 1849 on the Mary Shepherd. Could this be the same person?
