red mail Ford family
I am researching the Ford family who lived in Silverdale. My ancestor William Ford acquired a tithe award and built houses on what became Ford's Croft and then Ford Street, which is still there today. Many Fords lived on that street and as one of James Lawton Ford's gt gt granddaughters, I'm interested in making contact with anyone who has knowledge of my paternal family.
red mail Tompkin
Mary Olive Tompkin (born 1858), daughter of William and Mary Tompkin, granddaughter of John & Mary Morris of Quicksfield, Denstone, Staffs., married my grandfather, George Henry Homer Marlow, a journeyman baker from Bewdley, Worcs., at St Lukes Church, Silverdale on 27 October 1892. The address they gave on their marriage certificate was Church Street, Silverdale. They had three daughters, Gladys Edith, Hilda Mary and Bessie Homer all of whom, anecdotally, achieved their M.A at Bangor University. Mary Olive died in 1919. Information on the Tompkin family eagerly sought!
red mail LEESE
I am trying to trace James Leese who I believe to have been proprietor of kingsley Mining Company around 1895. He was married to Mary Jane (surname not known)who died in 1924 in Silverdale staffordshire. He had a son Benjamin who moved to Leeds where he married Helen louise Rose.
red mail JONES
I recently began to trace my family history. My mother's single name was Millicent Jones. She had two sisters and a brother, Elise May, Jean and George. Mum married dad, William Thomas Viggars from The Higherland, Newcastle, Staffordshire in 1945, when dad returned from WWII. Mum's parents were Daniel Thomas Jones and Jessie Jones (nee Ankers). During WWII they lived at the "Drill Hall", which is now Silverdale Community Centre. I know my mother's grandparents lived in Silverdale, but I do not know anything about them. If anyone could give me any information I would be very grateful for the assistance. With many thanks. Pamela

The 4 children were, William,-wife's name was Hannah, Mary Jane, who married Herbert James Pemberton, Rachel Ann, (my grandmother who immigrated to Canada)married Richard Bond and Grace, who married Percy Smith. After the death of Rachael Pointon Henry Harvey married Ann Hancock and had 5 or 6 more children. Rachael Pointon's father was Hamlet Pointon & mother was Ann Mansfield. If there is anyone with any connections to these families please contact me. I love to find new cousins. Thanks for reading this information. Ardath

Ford & Lawton at Silverdale Staffs
I am looking for details on George Nelson Ford. His DoB is unconfirmed but he reportedly left school age 11 and worked in the local coal mines until he retired. He married Lavinia Lawton of Silverdale in 1914 - her father was James Ephraim Lawton, publican at the then named 'The Foaming Quart' and later at the 'The Vine' (this may have been the same pub with name change, any help on that also welcome?). George Ford died between 1978 - 1981 aged aprox 88. They lived in or close to Silverdale their full married life. I have some information on the Lawtons but nothing of George Ford or his ancestors.
