red mail Looking for Arthur Roberts
Please help me find any information about my grandfather. All i know is that his name was Arthur Roberts (or at least that was the name he used), he married my grandmother Elsie Green in early 1927, and my father (Gordon Roberts) was born on 4/9/1927. About 6 weeks after that, Arthur left and never returned. My grandmother was officially divorced sometime around 1933. She and my father lived in Anchor Rd. There was some rumor that he may have been the chauffeur to the Mayor of Longton at the time; and that he may have run off to Australia??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

red mail BUXTON
I am looking for information on the BUXTON family of No. 4 and No. 10, Wellington Court, off New Street, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. My grandfather´s first names were Samuel Thomas. He may have spelt his surname originally as Buckstone. He fought in the 2nd Boer War in South Africa and I know he was there in Cape Colony in 1902 serving with the 3rd Militia, Time Expedition. Their children were Samuel, Albert, Georgina and Eliza. My grandmother´s maiden name was Harvey and her first marriage was to Edward Smith and I believe she was born in the Cookshill area of Caverswall. I am particularly interested in tracing descendants of Samuel Junior who married first Gertie and lived in Blantyre Street, Dresden, Stoke-on-Trent. He married for a second time to Annie and lived for a short while at No.10 Wellington Court after Albert and Ivy May Buxton left. Samuel had a son also named Samuel who married a lady named Ivy who lived at one time in the Blurton area of Stoke-on-Trent. This Samuel also had a son named Samuel and it is this section of the family I am attempting to trace. I do know that Ivy worked at one time at Longton Garages at the junction of The Strand and Edensor Road, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. This Ivy is not to be confused with my mother who by coincidence was named Ivy May Buxton.

red mail Newton Finney - Longton area
Hi, I am trying to trace Thomas Newton Finney in the area in/around Longton (c1800). He married Lydia (surname unknown) and they had a daughter Emma Newton Finney in 1928. I have been through the parish records for Longton, Fulford and a number of the surrounding parishes for the wedding of Thomas and Lydia - but either I missed it, they came from further afield or maybe didn't marry! Any help welcome Thanks Mark
