Are there any clus to the whereabouts of the Walls?
Please, please, please, does anyone know anyone named Wall in Kingswinford, Pensnett or anywhere in the surrounding areas? I would really love to find descendants of my great uncle by marriage, known as Arthur Wall. Although he was born in Yorkshire in 1878 his parents Charles Wall and Emily Powell were both from Pensnett and married in Kingswinford in 1875. There is a car dealership there named "Wall Ford" but when I contacted them I was told there were no Walls involved in the business. Charles Wall the father of Charles, was a wheelwright, as was one of his sons John so I FEEL THERE MUST BE SOME CONNECTION. Does anyone out there hold the vital clue for me? I have lots of family photos, papers and things that I want to go to the right family. (see my previous posting on this family).

red mail William IRELAND, Victualler of Kingswinford, Staffordshire
I would love to learn more about the parentage of William IRELAND, and more about his descendents. William is likely to have been born around 1723 and married Mary HADEN at Kingswinford in 1747, where they had about 9 children between 1748-1767. William IRELAND is believed to be the man named as a licencee of the Old Court Inn at Kingswinford in 1775, and is probably the father of the John IRELAND (b 1763)who was listed as a Cooper and Victualler in Kingswinford by 1809 (it is thought that all of William's sons other than John were deceased by 1805). John IRELAND had married Mary BOLUS in 1790 at Walsall, Staffordshire and they had 6 children all at Kingswinford but only 2 sons survived to adulthood. The eldest, William (b 1790), married Mary RUSHTON and worked as a Cooper, but died before 1835 and left his widow to run the business until her death in 1855. The youngest child though, John IRELAND (18021872), broke with tradition to become a Surgeon and General Practitioner, initially in Kingswinford, and then latterly at Wollaston. John had married Susannah ROAF (1816-1891) from a Kent family, in 1837 and when he died in 1872 his widow moved to Jersey to join her daughter Susannah who had married a Jerseyman, Thomas AUBIN, some years before and settled there. of John and Susannah's other children it is known that Ellen Elizabeth (1840-1925) married Owen DAVIES, and William Walter IRELAND (1854-1939) married Harriet Maria WAKEFIELD/SAVIN. I do hope this information rings some bells!
