My father's antecedents were in Grindon from about the 1830s, my 3xgt grandparents were Francis & Elizabeth Hall(nee Mellor) and 5 children were born to them between 1834 & 1844. Francis died in 1892, aged 79 & Elizabeth in 1886, aged 76.Their son, Francis, my great-great grandfather moved to Hulland and married Martha Woodhouse
