red mail Read
thank you for help so far, .I think that my gg grandfather Samuel Collins was married to an Emma Read at Bourton(Dorset) in 1866 and that they had 4 children,William, Frederick,Henry and Alice. The marriage cert shows Emma's father to be one ???Jamiah ?? Read...really unsure...I am hoping that i am progressing correctly here but as well as general uncertainty i cannot find this J Read and so am stuck.Emma was born at Charlton Musgrave (Somerset)Clearly these places and all the birth and workplaces of this branch of my family are close together but they span three counties which adds to complications e.g. William Collins (Samuel's father ) was from Zeals (Wilts)
red mail Collins
my G grandfather Frederick was born in 1869 in West Lydford the son of Samuel Collins a labourer. He married Kate Close from Lottisham in Shepton Mallett in 1891 and as per the increasingly industrial times moved from rural existence to work as signalman on railways.I am looking for his family..There was a Samuel Collins from the area who moved with his family to mining villages of south wales....could this be them?Does anyone know?
