Stephen BUSH
Seeking information regarding Stephen Bush ( born in Wells) who in the 1881 census was aged 61 and said to be a Commercial Traveller in Foreign Grain. It would seem 2 of his children were born abroad, Mary Ann in Canada and Stephen William in USA. Mary Ann Married William George Arthur in 1877 in Barton Regis. I have tracked him via various census. His wife Elizabeth was 3 years younger and born in Frome. I would like to find his baptism and marriage records. Also any records of his travels.
Emily (known as Violet) was the daughter of Sidney Green and Edith Clark. She was born in 1910 and lived in Shepton Mallet and later worked in Pylle as a domestic servant. Her father remarried ( mabel Walters). Violet married Albert White in Shepton Mallet in 1929 and had several children (Kenneth, Frederick and possibly Pamela). They spent sometime in the childrens home in Shepton but I have no trace for them after this period. Violet lived in Union Street and later in South Street in Wells. In 1943/44 she was working as a domestic servant at Northam House in Wells Somerset. I am not sure if she might have moved to the Midlands or Berkshire area in later life. Does anyone have any information concerning family members. whereabouts?

red mail Silvester- Wells union - Workhouse?
I am researching my husband's family history. In the 1841 census, his ancestor George Silvester age 30, Mary Silvester age 30, and Charles Silvester age 15 , were registered along with six other families at Hurst Batch, Wookey, Somerset; Registration District Wells Union. I am assuming this was a workhouse address, as no head of household is listed, and also that George and Mary were probably man& wife and Charles their son. I would love to find out more about the Silvester family in the Wells area. By 1851, George is listed as born in Stanton Drew, Somerset, and is working as a paper maker and seems to have remarried twice to younger wives by 1861 (Elizabeth b1823 East Pennard) and Mary (b 1831, Wells). He had five more children Ann (b1848) Ellen (b 1850) Louisa (b 1852) Lambert (b1853) and Edward (b 1856). Edward moved to Abercarn in S Wales by 1876. He worked as a coal miner and had three children; Ellen (b1876) Elizabeth(b1878) and Samuel George (b 1880) also a stepdaughter Esther Payne (b 1874) from his wife Elizabeth.
Trying to find info. about GEORGE WEAVER who was born about 1802 possibly in or near Wells, Somerset. ( He may be a brother to JAMES who was born in Wells in 1799 to parents BENJAMIN & MARY.) Many thanks.
My GGGgrandfather was JAMES WEAVER and was born in 1799 and baptised at St.Cuthberts in Wells, Somerset. He was the son of Benjamin and Mary (maiden name not known). I am keen to find out more about his parents and why or how he moved from Wells to Eling, especially as Wells is inland. I can only assume he went to Bristol to begin his career as a seaman. Many thanks.
