red mail Yandle family
Hello, I'm researching my family history and have traced the name Yandle to Timberscombe, Somerset. James Yandle was born@ 1821, he married Sarah Jane Pogsley (b.1825@Bristol) and as far as I can tell they had 5 children, including George Yandle (b.1851@Bristol) George moved to Wolverhampton with his family where he married Mary Stevens in 1875. Does anyone have any info on the Yandle family? there are loads of variations in the spellings of Yandle . . I believe James's father was called Thomas Yandle circa 1790-1800's???? I would be grateful for any information. many thanks Barbara

red mail BREWER
Charles E Brewer b c1878 was born in South Lambeth. His parents were William Brewer age 45 in 1881 born Timberscombe, Somerset and Mary (?maiden name) born Folkestone, Kent. Charles E (?Edwin) married Maud Anstey b 1878 in Exwick, Exeter, Devon. Maud died sometime after the first world war (about 1918). Charles, who had been in the RN during WWI then married May (previous name unknown but had been married before and had children of her own). Maude and Charles had several children, William Charles, b 1903 Battersea, Stan, Doll, Queenie, Ivy, and Em (died about age 19). William (known as Will) was married to Esther and they had a daughter Susan b 1941. Stan was married to Bunny and during the war lived in Bromley, Kent and drove a motor bike and sidecar. He had two sons, Clive and David. Queenie lived in Worcester Park, Surrey and was married to Jack. Ivy was married (husband's name unknown) and lived in Motspur Park, Surrey. Doll was single but ?had a partner, George Rowland - they lived in Balham, SW London - no children. All the family, except for William and Esther (due to a family fallout) moved to ?Devon/?Somerset on retirement. They all worked for the Inland Revenue at Somerset House all their lives in the Stamp Department. I would be interested in hearing from Clive and David BREWER.

red mail Timberscombe Families
I have a number of ancestors with Timberscombe associations in my Family Tree. These are the COLE or COLES family, who date back to Thomas and Agnes COLE who seemed to appear at Timberscombe around 1670. Their son, John COLE, was born c. 1675 and married Joan RIDLER on 16th May, 1702 at Timberscombe. Other names from the area are the DANIEL family (who stem from Samuel and Mary DANIEL, married 1738 at Timberscombe), and the COWLIN family. I'm happy to share data and information about the area with others.
