Chapel of Ease in Temple Cloud
I have been told that there use to be a Chapel Of Ease in Temple Cloud before the St Barnabus Church was built. The Chapel would have been for the convenience of the villagers instead of having to make the journey to the Parish church at Clutton. I have found out that these Chapels of Ease would have had a visiting vicar who would have been paid for the visit. The Chapel could carry out Baptisms and Weddings but not Funerals, they would have to be conducted at the Parish church. Is there any information available for the Chapel of Ease at Temple Cloud, where was it located or the registers, was it on the site of St. Barnabus Temple Cloud ? When was St.Barnabus built ? I have been told that there have been Sages in Temple Cloud for hundreds of years, some must have used this Chapel. Any information would be gratefully received
