red mail Mary Chedzoy - Spaxton
My direct ancestor, William King from Wiltshire, married a Mary Chedzoy from Spaxton, Somerset in 1803. For some reason they were in Radnorshire, Wales at the time. They had three children there, then went to live in Wiltshire. I am trying to trace back Mary Chedzoy's family as both the name and the reason why she was in Wales have made me curious. I can find no birth records of her in Spaxton, though i have had problems searching. If anyone can help i would be so grateful. Thank you.
red mail Louisa Davy or Davey
I am looking for the baptism records for Louisa Davy/Davey. She stated in several cenuses that her birthplace was Spaxton. I don't know who her parents were, but she was born c 1843. She married James Routley in early 1860s. I'd be really grateful for any help in finding her baptism record. Her father was John Davy/Davey, but I don't know who her mother was nor who her siblings were.
red mail Saunders Richard and Elizabeth Spaxton
These are my four times great grandparents who lived in various villages around Spaxton during their lifetimes. Richard was an AgLab and they lived for several years in the Alms houses in Spaxton until Richard's death in 1881 at the age of 85. They had two children who I cannot trace Isaac born 1833 and Henry born 1839. They also had William, Thomas, George, Charles and Jane. Any help in tracing these two would be appreciated.
red mail Employment
I'm trying to find what houses employed staff in the Spaxton area in the late 1860s as my ancestor worked in the house this is how the family described it, but we do not know which one. I've all so traced the Brights back to 1668 when Elizabeth Bright was baptized her parents were John and Grace Bright living in Enmore. There seem to be no Brights in this area before this date and I cannot find where John and Grace got married can anyone help.
