red mail looking for Jane's relatives.
My G Grandmother was born in Nynehead. Her parents were Thomas and Ann Taylor. They had eight children. Mary, Annie, Emma, Harriet, James, John, Henry and Jane. Jane came to South Wales and married James Thatcher, they had three children William, James, and Annie my grandmother. Jane's husband died young of pneumonia, and left her with three children to rear on her own. After a few years she remarried. She married Joseph Commer, and they had another four children Sarah Jane, Mary, Elizabeth (I knew her, and didnt ask her anything!) and Joseph. Does anything here ring any bells with anyone in Nynehead or anywhere, I can't believe that with all those children there are no decendants out there somewhere. Well I am one, and I would really, really like to hear from any relatives, no matter how distant. Thank you.

red mail HAYES family Nynehead
My gr grandfather Jonathan Hayes was born in Nynehead in 1872, 3rd child of John Hayes b 1874 in Nynehead and Sarah Jane Hill b 1846 in Halse.(married 1846 in Taunton) Jonathans 2 older siblings were William J b 1868 in Halse and Elizabeth Alice b 1870 in Nynehead.Family moved to Swansea between 1872/4and 6 more children were born. John Hayes' father was Robert Hayes b 1823 in Stogumber who married Mary Waygood in 1846. I think Roberts father was John Hayes b 1795 in Exford and his father was William Hayes b 1763 who married Mary Vickery in 1791 in Cutcombe. Can anyone confirm any of this?
red mail Hewings/Ewings
My Hewings family have many variations of their surname; they lived in Nynehead between 1859 and 1871. Thomas was born about 1815 in Nynehead or closeby and died in Bristol 1873. His wife Mary, nee Scobel, came from Devonport and was still alive in 1891, living in cardiff with her son Thomas. At some point this familt went to London and returned to the village. Their daughter Mary married Henry ROACH and was my 2xgtgrandmother. I would love to hear from anyone connected to this family as finding Thomas seniors parents is proveing a challenge, Helena
