Abraham LANG was born 1792 to Jos. and Jane LANG. In 1810 Abraham married Susanna BOVERD. Abraham's siblings include Isaac (1792), Ann (1794) Charlotte (1800) and Harriett (1802). Trying to sort out Abraham's parents, especially of Jane. Also looking for suggestions as to parents of Susanna BOVERD. Any information appreciated.

The death certificate of George Godfrey in 1885 indicates he came to Victoria, Australia in 1853. His parents from North Petherton were Thomas Godfrey and Ann Goodson. Is there any information in the area to coroborate these facts? George married Helen Mary Mulford and had 7 seven children. The first two were Walter and Mary Helen Godfrey who had both died by the time George died. It is possible both these children died in England. In addition George is said to be born at Benlough or Binlough (script is indefinite), is there any information about this place in the region of North Petherton, Bridgwater?

My ggg grandfather was from North Petherton Uriah Richard Hearne I have found him listed as Richard Uriah and the e is often dropped from Hearne. He married Sarah Ellis (Her family not from the area). His parents were Richard and Betty (nee Cornish). He had a sister Betsy Helen Hearne who was born in 1812. Uriah travelled with his wife and 2 children Andrew Ricahrd and Richard William to South Australia in 1840. Any help appreciated

HELP!!!! Thomas W married Fanney_?. They had : Edwin 1824 (my ancestor who moved to Sheffield and married Elizabeth Logan), Emma 1827, Charles 1829, Elizabeth 1831, Mary 1835, Thomas 1837, Anna 1839. I've searched and searched but I can't find out who Thomas's parents were. Neither can I find out what Fanney's maiden name is. Fanney moved to Westonzoyland after Thomas' death. Maybe the Winslades there are related to Thomas? There are so many Winslades in the area. One of them must be Thomas's father. I can't find the connection. Can anyone help me?

Hooper family
My grandmother was Lillian Stokes nee Hooper from the North Petherton/Bridgewater area. Her last sisiter Dorothy Johnson has just passed away at 104. Her siblings also included Mabel Walter, and Jack, plus others and her husband was a basket/withy weaver We are trying to get further back in the family tree and believe her mothers Maiden name may have been Matravers. Hi, I am looking for information on ABRAHAM CHAMPION bap North Petherton, Somerset 1727, son of Edward Champion and Jane MOORE. A brother William was bap 18 months later. It appears the family may have later moved to Bridgwater, Somerset, where Abraham married Jan 1750 Hannah LIDE (Lyde). Abraham was a brick & tile maker. I descend from Abrahams son William born late 1760 Bridgwater, who married Honour EDWARDS in Glastonbury 1777. The family later moved to Sherbourne Dorset and then onto Jersey Channel Islands. Does anyone know about the Pether family of Petherton Hundred. They appear not to be living there anymore. I have found present concentrations in Shinfield, Sonning, Wokingham in Berkshire and Odiham in Hants... et al. The later families have changedtheir surnames from Pether and Pyther through to Peether and Pither over the centuries. The Berkshire families were Yeoman, husbandmen, and Butchers, was cattle farming prevelent in Somerset. Where did all the Pethers go? Is there any reason for a migration from Somerset to Berkshire? Or are both groups disconnected?
