red mail Nempnett Murder
In 1851 John Wiles (born abt 1796) was executed for the murder of William Wilkins in Nempnett. I have information about the murder & execution but I would like to know more about John Wiles who he was and/or where he came from. I know that he was a journeyman blacksmith working in the area it is also believed that he was literate.
red mail Thomas Brock
Looking for information on Thomas Brock along with his ancestors and descendents. Also the Chapman family (london). Coates & Noke/nokes/noakes family birmingham.
red mail James Brock
Further to my other Brock postings I can now track back to an earlier ancestor: I have James Brock marrying Anne Hudd/Hadd in about 1772. One of their children was a John Brock who married Elizabeth/Betty Stevens. My ancestor Thomas Brock was their youngest son. If anyone can help me obtaining any info on James or Anne please advise!
red mail Brocks - Nempnett Thrubwell
Trying to find any other descendents of Thomas BROCK from Nempnett Thrubwell who emigrated to Canada as I understand that they have living descendants too. Can provide more information on names/places on request.
red mail Marks/Wyatt
Trying to find information on a Sarah Wyatt nee Marks (father Thomas Marks) who I believe is somehow connected to my Brock family from Nempnett Thrubwell. I know very little about Sarah: In 1891 she is aged 42 living with 24-year-old second husband, John Brock of Chew Stoke. She has one child with John, also called John (born c.1890), and 4 children from her former marriage - Thomas (c.1874), Alfred (c.1875), Mercy (c.1880) and Rosie (c.1883). At this time the family are living in Kings Cottage, Nempnett Thrubwell. By 1901 Sarah is widowed and living with youngest son John (now aged around 12) and her elderly father, Thomas Marks. I'm seeking details any connections between John Brock (second husband, born c.1867, died btwn 1881-91) of Chew Stoke and my Brock ancestors in Nempnett. I have a suspicion that John may be the nephew of my ancestor, Thomas Brock (born c.1832, I believe in Chew Stoke). I have some limited confirmation that all families were living in Nempnett through the late 1800's. Please be advised that I do NOT require information on Thomas Brock - I have this already.
red mail Hillier of Nempnett c.1790s
An ancestor of mine, Giles Foster, was working for and living with a Mr Hillier of Nempnett in c. 1798. Does anyone have information of the Hillier and Nempnett at that time
red mail Brock
Trying to find any other ancestors of BROCK family from Nempnett Thrubwell. I have a Thomas Brock (Son of John & Elizabeth Brock) born c1832 in Nempnett Thrubwell, Somerset. Thomas's first marriage (1853) was to a Hannah Vowles - they had at least 6 children, but I suspect more. Thomas' second marriage (Hannah died around 1877) was March 1881 to a Clara Pike (widow, maiden name Hurlston) by whom he had two Children. Basic information provided to me from Census records shows that there were other Brocks in/around Nempnett so I'm assuming these to be a family unit who are related to John: Names include Charles & Phoebe Brock, William & Rachael Brock, and Thomas & Sophia Brock. All these couples had children born in Nempnett 1813-39, which is when John & Elizabeth were finishing their family. If anyone can help with earlier Brocks, even if pointing me in the direction of recommended information sources, I'd be very grateful.
