MINEHEAD COAST GUARD SERVICE JOHN THEODORE PAGE: Inspecting Chief Officer of Her Majesty's Coast Guard died in 1875
John Theodore Page 1807 - 1875 an officer in the Coast Guard Service who seems to have been stationed at Minehead for many years, married in 1857 MARY LEIGH whose parents were Robert Leigh of Bardon 1804 - 1852 - Solicitor and his wife Charlotte Cox 1807 - 1875. For some reason Mary was adopted by Thomas Warden, solicitor of Bardon near Minehead her father's friend and partner. John and Mary Page had nine children. Please, is there anyone anywhere who is descended from them or who knows more about any of them, get in touch with me - they are being 'brick-walls' at the moment. Thank you very much.

red mail Charles Walker PC239
I am tracing the life of my grandfather, Charles Walker. Family stories say that he died as a result of injuries sustained when he fell down the cliffs at Minehead. He was attempting a rescue. I think he lived in 82 Bampton Street with his wife Florrie and 3 boys, Arthur, Mervyn and Ronald. The year of his death is around 1925/6. My father, Ronald, was born December 1923 and I have a photo of him with his elder brothers and parents, at the Police house in Chipstable in about 1924. My father thought that Charles died when my father was 18 months old.
