red mail Francis Family
I am researching the family of Elizabeth Francis a spinster, who was the mother of at least three children, George baptised 25 March 1822 , Mary Ann baptised 25 December 1826 and Jane baptised 21 July 1831. There may have been another son Henry. Both George and Mary Ann nominate John Francis, a farmer as their father on their marriage certificates. I have been unable to locate any marriage of John and Elizabeth. Mary Ann married Errick Sampson at Kensington in 1855 and emigrated to Australia in 1864. Any Information on John or Elizabeth Francis or their family appreciated
red mail Descendants of John Ford
John Ford was born in 1699 believed to be the son of John Ford and Elizabeth Cox who married at Crewkerne in 1696 but I have no hard evidence to support this.John married Hannah Evans and their son Samuel is my ggggrandfather. I am interested in other members of the Ford family who lived in Kingsdon.
red mail Kingsdon and Charlton Mackrell - Hollard family
I am researching the descendants of George Hollard, who according to the 1851 and 1861 census was born about 1785 at either Marston Magna or Mudford. He was baptised in Kingsdon in 1788, along with one other sibling, Sarah in 1794, after which he seems to have been orphaned when his parents George and Ann died in Kingsdon. He married in Charlton Mackrell in 1807 to Mary Acreman, and they proceeded to have 7 children christened in Charlton Mackrell: George 1807, Grace 1809, Charles 1812, Elizabeth 1814, John 1817, Ann 1821 and Robert 1823. George seems to have died in Charlton Mackrell in 1862, Mary in Charlton Adam in 1871 (she had been living with her daughter Elizabeth Board there in the census of that year). I have many many details about the NZ descendants and I had been collaborating for many years with the late author of a book about one branch of these NZ descendants, children of Charles, so I can share a load of information about them. I want to put together the puzzle of the UK descendants.
red mail little
looking for any info on joseph little born Kingsdon c 1796.
red mail Cridland, Williams, Pike
Looking for info on Richard Cridland Williams b 1849 to Sarah Williams then about 16. Was was Glover, Milliner and Dressmaker. Sarah's sister Elizabeth Williams apparently married Charles Pike in 1866. Sarah on 1851 census was niece to James Withey whose grandson Edmund Mullett was there also. Ruth Williams in 1851 census was with Thomas Mullett's family. She may be Sarah's mother. She was unmarried. Sarah on 1861 census was with her sister Elizabeth and son Richard Cridland Williams. Then no more info on Sarah. No death notice either. Would like to know more about all these people as have info on her son who married and had 8 children last of whom was Florence, my grandmother.
Tinney 1800s information
Tinney Kingsdon Somerset We are after further details of the family of Alfred Thomas Tinney of Kingsdon who married Mary Anne Barnard of Keinton-Mandeville who married in Barton St David in 1857 and left for Australia later in the year. Alfred Thomas's father was William Tinney and William's father was Thomas Tinney. Prior to Thomas Tinney's marriage to Joan Hilborn in 1800 we cannot find any record of him at all.
