red mail Porters of Hutton
Interested in the date of this wedding in Hutton at St. Mary's. It would have to be while Rev. Rose was vicar there. Early 1900 perhaps. Here is the article-- Hutton Dated ? Wedding. - There was a large congregation at St. Mary's church on Easter Tuesday to witness the nuptials of Mr. Frank Porter, only son of Mr James Porter, of this parish, and Miss Ada Jones, youngest daughter of Mr. Aaron Jones of Canada Farm, Bleadon. The service was fully choral and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. F. Rose (vicar), the Hymns 350 and 351 being sung. The bride- who was given away by her brother, Mr. J. H. Jones - was attired in a costume of pale blue material and a biscuit colour chiffon hat. She carried a handsome shower bouquet the gift of the bridegroom, and was attended by Misses Mattie and Lucy Jones (cousins of the bride) as bridesmaids, who wore white silk costumes and hats en suite, and carried shower bouquets the gifts of the bridegroom. Mr. A Slade (cousin of the bridegroom) acted as best man. During the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Jones left for London for the honeymoon, amidst the hearty good wishes of their many friends, merry peals being also rung from the belfry. The flowers were supplied by Mr. W. Brooks, Whitecross Nurseries, Weston-super-Mare, and the equipages by Mr. R. J. Dart, Grove Model Mews, Weston-super-Mare.
