Looking for any information relating to farmers Thomas and Sarah DARK originally of Broughton Gifford in Wiltshire who lived in Farmbrough Somerset from at least 1818 to 1822. They baptised three children in this time: Alfred in1818, John in 1820 and Sarah in 1821/22. They were tenents of the PPOPHAM family who owned large estates in Broughton Gifford, Farmborough and Ramsbury, as well as other places. The DARK family moved to Ramsbury in Wiltshire by 1824, where Thoms Dark died at a very young age in 1825. I'd also be interested in hearing from any POPHAM tenants around this time.. .

My great great grandfather William (24)appears in the 1851 census married to Sarah (23). They had a son William (then aged 2) who I beleive is my great grandfather.He ended up in the coal mines of South Wales.Any info.or confirmation please. Geoffrey
