red mail Davey-Palmer Family
Looking for descendants of Joseph Davey (born 1780) and his wife Mary Palmer (born 1779). They were the parents of the following children:Thomas Davey (1809); George Davey (1810); Charles (1813); James (1814) and Rosa (1821). George, Charles and James migrated to the United States. I am a descendant of the above mentioned George Davey who sailed from Liverpool to New York, USA in 1830, and settled first in Ohio, USA and removed to Michigan, USA where he remained until his death in 1897. Would love to know if Thomas Davey (above) also immigrated to the US.

Richard was born in Bawdrip around 1799 and married Sarah (?). They had eight known children, the eldest of whom, James, married Eliza Manchip Shorney, also of Bawdrip, in 1844. Any info on Richard and Sarah gratefully received.

John Dunstone was a labourer who died in Bawdrip, Somerset, on 5 August 1840 from Typhus fever. He married Judith Fry and they had at least four children - Elizabeth, Joel, Emma and Charlotte. Any other information about this family would be very welcome.

Thomas Banfield,b.1788 m.Louisa Wheeler 1809 in Chedzoy. Later lived Bridgwater. Son Henry b.1810 in Bawdrip m.Charlotte Martin, daughter Maria b.Bridgwater 1843. Any information about Maria please.

James Groves and Deborah (Pople) started their family in Chilton Polden in 1835 but by 1848 they were in Bawdrip. One son, John, married Caroline Chope and emigrated to Ontario Canada, near Ingersoll, They had one child in the 1871 census, and John was a stone mason. He drowned in Bowling Green Ohio, leaving a widow with small children. She remarried to Horace Bartlett and they lived on Peelee Island, Ontario

From The Century Cyclopedia of Names 1895 John Atherton was born at Bawdripp in Somerset in 1598, he died at Dublin 5th December 1640 as Bishop of Waterford and Lismore. He was hung for unnatural crime.
