Richard ONSLOW
Richard, born 1784 to Thomas Onslow and Anne (nee Colley), in the Shawbury district; baptised 17 June 1784 at Shawbury Parish Church. His parents were latterly of Sowbath Farm, Stanton. No further records discovered until he witnessed his sister, Jane Onslow's marriage to William Astley at Stanton Upon Hine Heath in 1819. Richard married three times, firstly to Ann Colley (? relative) Liverpool 1822, returning to Wem, where listed as a Druggist and Grocer in White Chapel Street. After Ann died, he remarried in 1828 to Selina, daughter of a Baptist Preacher, William Muckley. Richard was listed as Chymist, Druggist and Grocer in Cripple Street in 1835. After Selina died, he married Sarah Elizabeth Winnick. In May 1854, whilst staying with his sister and brother-in-law at Sowbath Farm and was buried at Shawbury Parish Church. Does anyone know about Richard's first 35 years, presumably in the Stanton/Wem areas, ie his education and where apprenticed? All help gratefully received.
red mail Breese, Thomas Charles
Thomas was born in Shawbury in 1868, father Charles Breese. Seems to have disappeared until 1896 when he reappears in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire in 1896 when he marries Jane Whittaker. Does not exist on 1881 cencus. Any ideas?
