red mail Jones, Ada Mary, Oswestry
Looking for later details of Ada Mary Jones who was born in Oswestry in 1872 - parents Philip Henry Jones and Jessie Maria Halfyard. In 1893 she married Frederick George Jones in Oswestry and had three children, Stanley Coling Jones, born in Chicago, USA, in 1895; Doris Mary Jones, born in Oswesty in 1898/99; and Leslie David Jones, born in Wrexham, Denbigh, circa 1900. This last child, Leslie David Jones was killed on 31/8/1918 in Flanders (6th Battalion, Northamptonshire Regiment). From approx 1900 to at least 1912, Frederick George Jones and his family lived at the Cross Keys Inn, Kinnerley, Shropshire, where Frederick George Jones was the proprietor/publican of the inn. After the death of Leslie David Jones in 1918, his mother is described as "Ada Mary ROBERTS, formerly Jones or "Harefield", Oswestry". His father, Frederick George Jones died at Kinnerley in February 1912, so it would appear that Ada Mary Jones remarried and lived in Oswestry. I would like to know what happened to Ada Mary Jones/Roberts and what/where "Harefield" Oswestry actually is. Ada Mary's first child, Stanley Coling Jones, emigrated to Canada (Hamilton, Ontario) in late 1919. Her middle child, Doris Mary Jones, married Horace Frederick Sanders in 1925. Any and all help regarding the later movements of Ada Mary Jones from 1912 onwards would be most appreciated.

We are trying to trace Sarah's family - as her father was a Land Surveyor and there was a lot of expansion in Oswestry in the 1840's and beyond there should be some kind of record for John Lloyd. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. :-)

Emly Ann was born in Llanidloes in 1848/9, I dont have her maiden name. She is registered in the 1871 census aged 22yrs old as being married to John Bowyer born 1833 in Whittington. Emly Ann was the second wife of John Bowyer and is registered as a sawyer. They lived at the Railway Tavern, Pant where she was the tavern Keeper. She brought up children from the first marrage and had four possibly six children of her own, Annie, Alice, Sampson?? George, and my g father Alfred, who died in 1950. John Bowyer died about 1884. Emly Ann then appears to have lived in Carreghofa,Llanymynech in the 1901 census and possibly died in 1912. Her connection with Llanidloes is not recorded, no record has been found of her maiden name.If any one has information which would possibly fill in the gap of her ancestory it would be very helpful. Or any other family history?????? The grand children of Emly Ann Bowyer were involved in the motor trade.
