red mail John RICE son of John SMITH ?
John Rice married Susan Handley 16th February 1847 in Burford parish church. Susan was the daughter of George Handley. The groom is named as John Rice son of John Smith but I have been unable to trace either. Rice could be incorrect and the following are other possibilities: Preece, Reece or Price. John Smith was described as a Farmer and John Rice a Labourer. Both bride and groom reside in Burford. In 1851 census Susan is living with her father, and son John from a previous relationship, in Coreley, Shropshire. George's great granddaughter Ellen Lloyd is also present. Unable to establish where Susan's husband was. Does anyone recognize the groom and his family?
red mail Griffiths family in area mid 1800s
I would appreciate any information of the family/ancestry of aThomas Griffiths, ( sorry; I know there were a lot of them) b.c. 1832 Burford or Kington, and Susan (Roberts). They married late 1858 at Cleobury Mortimer, and in the 1861 census he was listed as a labourer, and they were in Burford together with their young family. We know they had at least 3 children, Thomas (9 in 1861, so probably also under Susan's maiden name?), George ( 3 in '61), and Alfred (7 months at time of census). We know that the family moved to Hindley in Lancs, and a fair bit about young George, and his descendants, but we'd really be interested to find out more about Thomas Griffiths and Susan, their parents and/or siblings, and any others in the family. Any help really welcome, we know very little as yet.

Looking for a Richard and Jane Parker who had a son Henry born Jan 27th, 1838 in Shrewsbury? Looking for any other siblings of Henry and where Burford is in relation to Shrewsbury which might explain varying birthplaces. Richard Parker was a shoemaker
