My father Reginald Stanley Callcott was born on 22 Feb 1904 at Summer Hill Cottage Baschurch. birth certificate states mother Louisa Callcott (no father listed). My father was adopted by James & Mary Tench of Meole Brace. He traveled to Australia in 1922. Name listed as Reginald Stanley Calcott Does anyone have any information about Callcott/Calcott in this area. I will be in Shropshire in April next year. Geoff
Emma Woodhouse lived at 3 Summer Hill Cottages Baschurch at the time of her death in July 1917. She was a widow with one son John Thomas aged 12. She had previously been a Dairy Maid.House Servant and later Housekeeper at Atcham Grange. She married John Woodhouse who farmed at the Grange and her son was born in 1904. Her Husband died in 1905.Emma then moved back to Baschurch I am seeking any information regarding her son John Thomas after her death.

Has anybody out there done any research on the Westons of Baschurch my family originated in Baschurch ie Andrew Weston b 1785 and I think his father´s name was Thomas b1746 and his mothers name was Ann. There a number of Weston´s in Baschurch during the 1700s and I am sure that they are related but I am having trouble tying them together. Can anyone help please. Ken

Stephen Blower born 1900, from Shrewsbury, married Gladys M Payne in 1925 in St George, Hanover Square, London. I believe Gladys' family also came from the Baschurch area. Stephen was in the Household Cavalry in London. His parents and grandparents all came from the Baschurch area.Would love any info on either Stephen or Gladys.

Some anceators appear in the IGI as having been christened in BASCHURCH. In some census returns, they state their place of birth as Weston (and sometimes as Baschurch). Might this be "Weston Lullington" or somewhere else? I see there is a Weston near to Wem as well as others . . .

I am researching the DICKIN families of North Shropshire. They are first recorded in the Baschurch area in 1788. I am particularly interested in the last of the family to live in the village, Samuel Dickin, who I think died about 1950.
