red mail Stewart/ Hutchison
I am looking for the parents of John Stewart (Stuart) born 1784-1787 in Neilston. John Married Marion Hutchison in 1817 in Neilston. They had 11 children. (John also had a natural daughter Margaret born in 1809 by Margaret McCallum). Marion must have died before 1847 when all of her children (except Robert born 1818) immigrated to the US in 1847. John came later in 1849 when a son John went back to get him. They settled in Cincinnati and New Orleans. There are several John Stewarts born in Renfrewshire at that time. I think his parents are Robert Stewart and Elizabeth Pollock but need to confirm. John died in Cincinnati in 1854 (no death records). I would like to find the son Robert Stewart too. A Robert Stewart married a Catherine McLaren from Kirkton Field in 1844. They had a daughter Janet Bowie Stewart born 1845. They disappeared. Did they immigrate first to the US? I would also like to know what happened to Margaret. John had her baptized in 1820 ( I believe her mother Margaret McCallum married Thomas Cochran).
