red mail John Craigie
I am searching for any information regarding John Craigie who was born between 1803 and 1808. Parents unknown. John Craigie arrived in Perth, Western Australia in mid 1831, left and returned again in 1834. In 1842 John Craigie married Margaret Walker (from Edinburgh) in Albany, Western Australia. John and Margaret later moved to South Australia where they ran her father's property. The Walker family arrived in South Australia in 1840 per the 'India'. John died on the Victorian goldfields in 1852. On all documents in Australia John stated that he was from Perthshire Scotland. I do know that he is not the son of John Craigie and Ann Paterson, they have been eliminated through census records. I would like to find out who his parents were and if he had any siblings. Are there any Scottish relatives?
I'm searching for descendants of Thomas & Elizabeth Drummond Buchanan (nee Duff). Elizabeth was born in Crieff 22nd Jan 1863 & died 19th April 1931 in Stirlingshire she was 68 years old. They had 2 sons Thomas Buchanan born abt 1887 & John Pullar Buchanan born abt 1884. Thomas (the son) married Catherine Ritchie in 19th January 1915 in the Parish of Crieff. Thomas (the son) is listed on his marriage certificate as having the profession of Railway Clerk. John Pullar Buchanan married Mary Cooper in March 1912 & died the same year 24th October 1912 . I'm trying to trace Thomas & Catherine Buchanan's descendants, but can't find either of their death certificates. I have many beautiful professional photos in a leather bound album that my Great Grandmother brought with her when she immigrated to Australia in 1913. The inscription in the front page of the album reads" Miss Ann Duff from Mr Thomas Buchanan 1st January 1894". My Great Grandmother Ann Duff was Elizabeth Drummond Buchanan's (nee Duff) sister & the significance of the date 1st Jan 1894 was the date that Thomas married Elizabeth. I'm hoping to trace the Buchanan line & hopefully find someone who may have the same photos that I have & can help me put names to them. Unfortunately none are named & any help would be greatly appreciated.

McGillawee, or its variants is apparently a sept of the Clan Lamont. Alexander McGillawee married Christian Stewart in the Parish of Dull in 1837 and emigrated to Canada shortly thereafter. His brother, John used the Lamont name; he married CatherineMcPhail in 1846 in Kenmore and lived at Lawers until about 1855 when he too came to Canada, where he first used the Lamont name and then changed to McGillawee. Another brother, Robert, married Margaret Carr in the Parish of Logierat in 1840 and continued to use the Lamont name and remained in Perthshire. There may be couple of sisters, possibly Charlotte and Margaret. John is my gr-grandfather. From cemetery transcriptions it appears the family were from Blair Athol. Any further information willbe appreciated.
