Ashfield House, Dunblane
I am trying to find the former whereabouts of Ashfield House which appears in the 1871 census as the home of the Bolman family, a mis-transcription for Notman. I have found nothing apart from information about the late nineteenth century silk weavers cottages in the area, but the house must have been fairly substantial, having '6 rooms with one or more windows'.
red mail Lennox Family
Hi, I am hoping that somebody can add to my family history. I have tracked the family back to Peter Lennox 1794-1881 who was married to Margaret Richardson, born 1796 and Peter's father Colin who was born somewhere around 1765. I have ended up going sideways more than backwards and found the family scattered from Canada, the USA, Australia and my branch to New Zealand. If anyone can help, brilliant, I would love to go further back if possible. Cheers, Heather

red mail Edward LUCAS
Hi All, I am researching my LUCAS family. I have one person Edward LUCAS who died in DUNBLANE in 1844. He was born in 1804 in Whitehaven Cumbria then moved down to Derbyshire. So he was only a young man of 40 when he died. He was a traveller for the LUCAS family business of Dronfield Derbyshire where they had an iron foundry. His wife's name was Angelina and they lived at Hill Top farm Dronfield. I have tried everything that I know to find out how he died and where he is buried without success. I think he was in DUNBLANE on family business when he died. If anyone can shed any light on this person as to how he died and where he is actually buried, I would be really appreciative. Or if anyone can give me any tips regarding local papers of that era or Historical Societies for the Dunblane area I would be very pleased. I am really clutching at straws here Thank you. John (Australia)
