I have lived in this area of Pembrokeshire for over 15 years. My neighbours were born in the area and are in their mid 80s now. I wonder if we can offer any help. You must bear in mind that Pembroke Dock is the other side of the Waterway to most of the other places mentioned here. There was a ferry in latter years and prior to that several passenger ferries transporting the local children north of the Waterway to attend senior school at Pembroke Dock. Now we have a toll bridge two thirds of a mile long. If I can help explain the general area, I would be only too happy. Burton Ferry and Pembroke Ferry are close to the bridge but further up river, there is Lawrenny and Llangwm Ferry. Ann

red mail Thomas Harold Davies deceased - (Johnston - Pembrokeshire)
I was born in Johnston in May 1936. My late mother told me that my father Thomas Harold Davies was killed in a motorbike crash in Kilgetty when I was six months old. Before he married my mother, my father was a fish merchant from Milford Haven trading under the name of Miles in his father's business. I am compiling a family tree and there is no birth (he was born in 1908) nor death entry (1936/7/8)for my father in the General Registry Office. I am intrigued and mystified to find out why. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it. Brin
