red mail Griffith JAMES, Steynton
Need to untangle two Griffith JAMES in Steynton, 1841 census. Both born about 1787-1791 so they are 50-54 tears old. Census taker has one Griffith living with Mary, 50-54 (wife?), Elizabeth, 15-19 (daughter?), William 15-19 (son?) I can not make out the occupation of Griffith. Second entry has a Griffith JAMES living as a manservant with 13 other "manservants" on Front Street. Head of family indicated as Edward PRITCHARD, 65, Postmaster; Elizabeth, 47 and 8 children and other people. (Sounds like a hotel residence?) Any help to untangle the relationship between these two Griffith JAMES' would be helpful!
red mail John Family
I am looking for details of my great grandfathers family. His name was William David John born in 1849 and baptised Steynton Pembrokeshire on 27th May 1849. From what I have learnt so far his fathers name was David John and his mother was Elizabeth but thats where the trail stops. William David John migrated to Adelaide South Australia (date?)and married Rebecca Underdown in 1880. Any help on where to locate his family be much appreciated

MARTHA JOHN had illegitimate son in 1823, by WILLIAM JONES a sailor. Son named WILLIAM FITTIS JOHN JONES and baptised at Walwyns Castle, together with her sister MARY THOMAS'S (nee JOHN) daughter Martha, in 1824. (YES! it confused the curate as well according to the baptism certificate). MARTHA married WILLIAM JONES, August 1824 and then had two further known children; ROBERT JONES b.1825 in Steynton and ELIZABETH JONES b.1830 in Steynton. Mother and three children all in Steynton at times of the 1841 & 51 census. No further information about anyone of this family. Can anyone help please?

red mail Howell
I have traced the parents of Arthur Rees (born Steynton, Milford Haven in 1856) who was married to Margaret Bagshaw 1855, as James Rees 1830 (born Pembroke Dock) and a Maria (born Steynton 1837). I think, having searched all Maria's in Pembrokeshire, that she was a Maria Howell, however there are 2 Maria Howells born in Steynton within one year of each other - 1837 and 1836. Does anyone out there know anything that can help me? Arthur worked as a joiner in the docks and became a cordwainer (carved boxes to store the ships' logs).Arthur's sisters were Margaret 1860 and Sarah 1862. Arthur and Margaret's children were Arthur (again) 1880, Jack 1882, Sam 1888, Mary 1890, Fred 1891, Harriet 1894 and Bertram 1899.
