red mail William Meager
Hello. I am looking for information on William Meager. He was born 1768 at Bodmin, married 1792 at Plymouth, and died 1830 at Swansea. In about 1811 he decided to emigrate to America, but the ship suffered storm damage and had to make port at Milford Haven. I am hoping that someone will be able to help with information about this event, (unfortunately I do not know the name of the ship). I know it's a long shot, but you never know. Thanks, Julian.

I have photographs which may be of this family, which I think were taken in Tenby, one of which has "Mary Williams" on the back. They have a connection with a RICHARD WILLIAMS and his wife ALICE nee PICTON, (born in Rosemarket) who lived in Haverfordwest. Any information gratefully received.

Thomas was noted to have been a blacksmith and to be deceased on William's marriage certificate to my grandmother Edith Pauline Evans nee Russell in 1896. This was William's second marriage - his first was to Mary (born in Manchester), William was a railway gaurd when he married Edith and he lived in Swansea with both first wife Mary, and also second wife Edith - although one child of his with Mary was born in Leeds Yorkshire. Any information about William Jones family before his marriages would be most helpful. red mail Major William Kingdom Rains: My Ancestor
He Had an Eye for the Fairer Sex One of Georgina Township's first settlers was Major William Kingdom Raines (Rains), who settled on the shores of Lake Simcoe in the late 1820's. Rains had been a veteran in the Peninsular Wars in which Spain, Portugal, and Great Britain had joined forces to stop France's domination of central Europe. After the war ended, Rains settled on the family estate, Sutton Lodge in Wales, where he had been born in 1789. William moved to England to practice engineering, but missed the excitement of military life. In 1824, he rejoined the army and was sent to Malta.
