red mail Busby families around Curbridge? - (Curbridge - Oxfordshire)
Does anyone have any information on any of the Busby families around Curbridge in the 19th century and earlier? I’m trying to trace any pre-1850 part of the Busby family, back from my great great grandfather Algerine Henry Busby (bap. Curbridge 24.5.1852). His parents were Thomas Busby (bap. 24.2.1808) and Sarah (nee Higgins, married to Thomas 19.10.1840, at Bampton), and they lived in Oxfordshire (Ardley) then maybe in Bucks (Ludgershall?), then in Curbridge. Thomas’s parents were apparently Edward Busby and Mary (nee Calcutt), farmers in Curbridge and Lew/Bampton. Thomas was their 10th child. In 1876 Algerine married Stella Louise Herring (from Marsh Gibbon, Bucks). If additionally you can help with any of Algerine’s siblings’ families that would be great too. I have traced his sisters Amelia E (m. Phipps) and Georgiana F or Georgina (m. Johnson), but have no trace of sisters Julia F (bap .c1857) and Louisa Maria (bap. Curbridge 5.12.1849), or of brothers Walter Augustine (bap. Curbridge 8.7.1855) and Thomas Frederick (christened Ardley 27.5.1845). There may also have been a Nellie and a Mary. In great hope - and many thanks in advance, Stephen
