red mail HENRY TATE
Can anyone help? I'm trying to trace my great-grandfather, HENRY (AKA HARRY) TATE, who was born in Woodstock, Oxon, about 1866. At one time, he was "in service in a big house in Yorkshire" - possibly a town ending with 'field'. In 1908 he was a Coachman Domestic and lived in Shipley, West Yorkshire. By 1911 he was a Coal Porter (Employer), living in Idle, Bradford. He died in Shipley in 1917. His wife was EDITH HYDES (or HAYES), born in Sheffield about 1875. I cannot find a marriage certificate - on the 1911 census (yes, I paid £40!), they state they had been married for 4 years. They had two children - Morris, my grandad in 1908 and Fred in 1910. I've hit a total brick wall - please help!!
