She married a William DYER of Orston Nottinghamshire and later St Ann. William and Mary Dorothy came to New Zealand in 1853 with five children. Robert may not have been born in Radford and most likely in Yorkshire, Ainderby Steeple was his place of birth on the 1861 Census. He was living as a Lodger at St. Ann, Nottingham This is the area that William and Mary lived before they left England. He died in 1863. Any information o any of these members of my family will be gratefully received.

red mail Woodhead: George b.c1844 Calais France
George Woodhead, b.c1844 Calais, France son of Samuel Woodhead & Ann Cheetham (dau. of John & Mary Cheetham of Orston, Notts. Known children, Edward b. c1836 (lived with his Cheetham grandparents), Maria b. c1839; George b. c1844 Calais France; Laura b. c1847; (see 1851 Census). George b 1844 is the ancestor I am researching; his marriage is proving to be difficult to establish. Certainly he married a 'Lousia' but cannot determine whether it was Louisa Boot or Louisa Sand(er) The Louisa in question, alters her place of birth from Census to Census, sometime in Radford, other times Crumpsall Manchester. Can anyone help please?
I have an EDMUND GEORGE WOODHEAD born France 1844 who married, in Radford, a LOUISA BOOT who, at the 1881 Census says she was born Radford abt. 1842/3. She is a Lace Mender. Interestingly, there is a William Boot on the 1881 Census, also born France with wife (coincidentally) called Louisa who says she was born Birmingham. I am inclined to think that it is likely that, since both men were born in France probably both to Lacemaking parents, they may have been related later by marriage. I cannot yet find any indications of the family origins of Louisa Boot or William Boot.
