I am looking for information in regards to the death of Rebecca E Hood (nee Lucas). She died Sept quarter of 1930, aged 25. I have looked in freeBMD and death can be found in Mansfield 7b 97. I suspect she died in child birth and that possibly the baby did not survive either. Is someone able to look this up and give me her exact death date and cause of death. Her husband was William Arthur Hood. He remarried 2 years later into my family line. Thank you for any assistance someone can give.

John Was born in Norfolk in a place called Winfarthing. In about 1914 Ernest and Beatrice Emily Moved to 11 South Short Steet Salford Lancashire and in about 1936 John and Louisa appeared on the Electorol Roll On Ordsall Lane Salford. Hi, does anyone have any information relating to this family headed by Thomas Carlin born in Eastwood in 1864? His wife Mary Ellen, or children: Isaac (Ike), Florence, Henry, Laura, Samuel, Earnest, Minnie (my grandmother), Verity (Tilly) who moved to Blackpool,and I think, Eva who married a Slaney and whose son Raymond was an army captain. Seeking any information on Ann Dawn (1808 - 1866) who married John Paulson in 1831, they had one son George William Paulson born in Mansfield 1832. Ann became a successful artist especially when painting flowers and fruit, some of her paintings were exhibited in London. She also painted local views of the town and portraits. I have visited Mansfield Museum where some of her work can be seen but I would be most interested to see any other examples. We do have, in the family, a portrait of Great Aunt Mary Allen, nee Paulson, which I believe is by Ann Dawn. Do have a look at her pictures when you are in Mansfield.

Does anyone have any information on the Rock Houses/Caves on Rock Hill just up from Ratcliffe Gate in Mansfield. I live near these and would love to know more about them, the last one that is visible from the road on the left on the way up the hill heading to Rainworth has now been blocked up with stone. I do believe there is another one in the hedgerow but not sure if this boarded up or not. Any information on what the houses/caves where used for or when they stopped being used would be good

My Great Great Grandmother Clara nee AVES was born (11th June 1884, baptised St Johns Mansfield 8th July 1884) of William Tom AVES and Susanna Orr (Baptism records say he was baptised William John Aves Born 11th February 1859, baptised St John Mansfield 3rd February 1869 with 3 other children of his family including Clara Aves, Emily Sherwood Aves, Lucy Elizabeth Aves (married a King) with brother Ernest Harold AVES (Born 12th September 1869). Her mother was Mary Elizabeth (nee Newton) The AVES family emigrated on the ship Ligura to Australia. William Tom left Melbourne for Tasmania in 1924, but no trace can be found. We wonder if he returned to Mansfield to be with his family and so hope a descendent of William, or a descendent of his family members might be able to assist. Also their parents were Henry Child AVES who married Susanna Orr. I don't know if Orr was her family name or a second name and don't know the marriage details. If anyone has these I'd welcome the information. I have an 1866 4th Notts regiment Shooting Cup won by Henry Child AVES and wondered again if the descendents of the Regiment (became the Sherwood Foresters I believe) might be interested. Hello, I am looking for information on a William Tarr who, from the census records of 1881 and 1901, has said he was born at Mansfield. He moved to Ashover (we are unsure if this was before or after marrying his wife Mary Mowbray of Ashover, as we have no records of marriage as of yet). I have several Sansom relatives born in Mansfield Nottinghamshire. John Sansom was born circa 1785 and lived in Rock Valley Mansfield. His son was Henry John Sansom born c1823.

Bill Crutchley married Nellie Waterfield. Any past Crutchley or Waterfield family record details greatly appreciated. It is thought that Bill's family were originally from elsewhere but we have found no connectin so far with any other documented Crutchley families.
