Trying to trace any information for Catherine DODDS. Born Haydon Bridge abt 1825. Father's name was John DODDS and believe he was buried 29 Aug 1835 in Haydon Bridge. He married Ruth WALKER (born about 1798 in Haydon Bridge) 7 Jun 1821 in Haydon Bridge. I have 4 known children - John born and died 1824. Another John born about 1831 but no baptism record found and only found in the 1841 census in Haydon Bridge with mother and sister Hannah. Catherine born about 1825 and Hannah born about 1830 - no baptism record found. Ruth, Catherine and Hannah appear in the 1851 census in Westoe, Durham all listed as Paper Mill Labourers. Think Ruth may have died in 1857 but as yet not confirmed. Catherine married Robert McLean MARSHALL in Lambeth in July 1854. They came to Australia via assisted immigration on the "Shand" in 1855. Catherine appears in the 1841 census as a live in servant without other family members. Any help anyone can provide would be appreciated. Thanks Lis
I am currently searching the Topping branch of my family tree and have got back to John Topping who was born in 1811 in Haydon Bridge. He had a wife called Elizabeth who was born in 1805. They, and there son Henry (born 1839), seemed to have lived in Warden for a while. Henry then moved to Gateshead. If anyone knows anything about John, Elizabeth or Henry during there time in Haydon Bridge and Warden I would be ever so grateful. Thanks
