Thwy had 4 or 5 childrens together, Arthur. Albert, Alice, Alfred & possibly William (not confirmed yet). My g.grandfather, David Wood, was born in Long Buckby circa 1802. and on the 15 Nov 1829 he married Elizabeth Butlin. They had 7 children; David 1831, George 1833, Thomas 1835, Jane 1837, Alfred 1839, Elizabeth 1841 and Butlin 1839. Then in 1844, Elizabeth was having twins. John and Fanny were born but Elizabeth died. The twins also died at 7 and 3 months respectively. In 1851 David married a widow, Alice Bush nee Clarke, from Welton. Alice already had a child, George Bush, from her first marriage. They then had a further 5 children: Susanna 1853, Alice 1855, Abraham 1855 (my grandfather), Joseph 1858 and Ann 1861. David died in Watford in 1867. From the marriage certificate for David's second marriage, we learn that his father was a William Wood. I would like to hear from any descendants and particularly anyone who can give information about David's parents.

Martin Bounds.- I am trying to trace my 6xg/father one martin bounds married Mary Haddon in 1798,in L/bucky died 1807 Mary died in 1813 of small pox.This is as far as I have been able to get, I have seen his name on a marriage entry as a witness for a John Bounds & Elizabeth Pain in 1794 at Ravensthorpe, is this his brother? My Grandmother Emily Elizabeth Andrew in the September quarter of 1879 probably in Long Buckby (her birth was registered in Daventry), in the 1881 Census the family was living in Wharf Road, Long Buckley. In 1891 they were living in Moore Street, Kingsthorpe. In 1901 they were at Hood Street, Northampton, it was from that address that she married my grandfather Frederick William Salmon Wright in 1906. I am researching the family history of my late mother-in-law and have discovered that her mother's family came from Long Buckby. Her grandfather was John C Darlow born around 1850. He had 3 brothers, George b.1848, Frederick b.1859 and William b.1853. Also a sister, Eliza born around 1856. There was also a nephew, Alfred born around 1864. The family moved to Northampton where the men mostly worked in the shoemaking industry. I would be grateful for any more information on this side of the family.

My great grandfather William Ward was born in Long Buckby in 1810. His parents were William and Elizabeth Ward, Butchers. There were 3 other children, Martha born 1808, John born 1812 and Eleanor born in 1815. I have no information as to where his parents were born or the maiden name of Elizabeth. I have all the details from the time William and Martha moved down South and John stayed up in Long Buckby raising a family. Eleanor seems to have disappeared from the records. Brown Family
I am interested in the Brown Family of Long Buckby and have traced them back to William Brown, who married Mary Griffen in 1795. Their son John married Elizabeth but they both died young and their three children George, Ann and Hannah were brought upby various relatives in the village. George's daughter Elizabeth, my great grandmother was born in Long Buckby in 1853. On her birth certificate George was described as a Shoemaker.
