I am looking for any information on William Hancock who was sent to prison for three months in 1866 for abandoning his family. He was sentenced in Daventry and sent to Northampton gaol. I am particularly interested in the family he abandoned.

My Gt Uncle Earnest John Wright is a bit of a mystery - He was one of 4 brothers, James, William and Bertram. His parents are John Wright and Julia/JudyKitching. He was born about 1876 in Grove Park. I have him on the 1891 census,age 15 living with Julia, Willie and Bertie and on 1901 census he has left the family but I cannot find him - we have a "family rumour" that he married a Rose and died around 1968. Neither of which have I managed to confirm nor can I find any children for him. Can anyone help?

Peter Hanslow (son of Richard and Sarah) died approximately 1840 - 1850, probably in or near Daventry. He left his "estate", which was most likely land or a house, to his nephew, Peter Hanslow, in Australia. Aussie Peter still had this property in 1865, as it is mentioned in his Will. Does anyone know anything about this? The mention of "the Daintree estate" has intrigued us for years! Cheers.

Am looking for details of MARY SHEPPARD/SHEPHERD's birth - perhaps Daventry or Hellidon. Mary married WILLIAM GRUBB 1/10/1724 in Daventry. Also details of her parents, JOHN & MARY (both buried in Hellidon). They had kids:- John, Sarah, Hester, Martha, Thomas (all bapt. Hellidon, 1698-1704) & Mary & Ann - baptisms unknown. Some of these kids ended up in Richmond Surrey!

John and Robert Wildgoose were surgeons in Daventry about 1800. Robert was also a botanist, together with his (unnamed) sister. There was a third brother, Charles who may or may not have been in the medical profession. I believe their parents to have been John and Mary and suspect they came from outside the county. Searching for information on my Great Grandfather William Clarke born in Daventry 1832, his mother's name was Esther b.abt 1808, a widow. His brother's name was John b. 1834, and sister's Mary b. 1830 and Sarah b.1836. In the 1841 census they were living in Black Boy Yard, Daventry. Robert Arnold Adams b 1818 m Elizabeth N Capell 7 May 1840. Robert Arnold Adams mother Susannah Adams b circa 1771 believed nee Masters from Sawbridge Warwickshire, father's name thought to be Thomas, born circa 1790, but no confirmed details yet. Robert Arnold died 1848. Elizabeth ran the Grocers & Ironmongers, in Church Street, Weedon Beck in 1881. By 1891 she was living in Back Lane Weedon. One son, Robert & Phoebe (nee Tilley) Adams were inn-keepers at the White Horse in (Road) Weedon and also butchers and ironmongers in adjacent building circa 1900. Interested in finding out more.

Louise(?), Elizabeth Jane (1844 in Lutterworth Leicester), Mary Ann (1849 in Warickshire). By 1858 Elizabeth had died and he remarried to Fanny ? the first of two daughters was born Frances Elizabeth (1858) and she was followed by Sarah Ann. John LUCAS died in Manchester.

I have traced ancestors to Daventry from 1841 through 1881 using the census and BMD data. My gggggrandfather was a Robert Castle from Ashton under Lyme in Lancashire who settled in Daventry. He was married to a Mary Ann Pratt (I believe) and was a hat manufacturer all his life. He and his wife had at least 4 children - Mary Ann, Edmund, Robert John, and Eliza Ellen. The two Mary Anns passed away in 1856 and 1858 (though I don't know which was first). Can someone let me know what additional records may be available, or whom to contact? Thank you!
