My 3rd great grandfather Christmas SPARKS and Maria BISHOP were married at St Martin at Oak Norwich on 7 Feb 1823. He served with the 2nd Foot Guards at Waterloo in 1815, and was an out pensioner of Chelsea Hospital. He died age 66 at Lord Brougham Yard, St Martin at Oak 17 Mar 1844. Would be pleased to hear any information on the families of these two people.
red mail Henry Welch/Welsh/Walsh Bootmaker from Norwich
I'm trying to trace the Welch (possibly Welsh) family tree. Henry Welch b. 1855 in Norwich and wife Sarah (nee?) b 1861 from Northampton. Henry was a bootmaker. They moved to Paddington and had at least 3 kids called Frederick, Daisy and Lucy. The kids were orphaned young. I can't trace any further back than Henry - where is he from? Who was his wife? Any help would be appreciated :)
Am looking for any ascendants/descendant of one Nathaniel Thurston - Brickmaker born c1780 Norwich. Nathaniel married Hannah Hall in Cambridge in 1808 and had (presumably among others)a Daughter Catherine in 1815 and a son Robert in 1825 (My Direct Line). Possible that the showman/Fairground entreprenour Henry Thurston could be one of Nathaniels Sons Regards Roy
red mail Actress photos
Looking for photos (family or stage) of actress Emma Norris (1890-1920) (married name Mason) living in Norwich 1945-1968. Need to know some shops in Norwich where family memorabilia would be sold off or distributed after death...old postcard or memorabilia shops etc. Thanks
red mail Scott
Does anybody known any about Scott Yard off Ber Street and Scotts Court near St John's Timberhill. How did they get their name? Was it after the upholisters and cabinet makers of that name? I was also appreciate any old photographs of the Scott Memorial Chapel in Thorpe Road as my ancessors (the Scotts and the Harpers) worshipped there for many years.
